The United Kingdom, especially the entire royal family, was grieving some time ago because of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She has been the queen and also the head of state of the British Empire which adheres to a constitutional monarchy system of government. Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Scotland's palace after some time ago was reported that her health was declining. Queen Elizabeth has been the head of state for 70 years since February 1952. This made Queen Elizabeth the second longest-serving holder of the throne in British history.

Leaving Queen Elizabeth to the attention of the international community, this cannot be separated from the influence of power during the 70 years of holding the royal throne. This aspect is also the reason that Queen Elizabeth has been considered successful in carrying out her function as the head of state. One of the functions of the head of state in the British Empire is limited in ceremonial terms, although Queen Elizabeth has no political power because of her duties and authority as head of state which is a symbol of the unity and power of the United Kingdom. When Queen Elizabeth II came to power, it was known that there was no turmoil that threatened the state and monarchy in Europe and even the world. So it can be said that there is no significant influence and change after the death of Queen Elizabeth II on the British Empire.

Several changes and estimates of the impact may be felt by the British Empire after the death of Queen Elizabeth. Prince Charles III as the eldest son and main heir after Queen Elizabeth II will ascend the throne to become king. Prince Charles III then ascended the throne on Saturday 10 September 2022 after the decision as the new leader of the monarchy was announced by the accession council. In the process of transferring power, everything went peacefully except there were several things that hindered the prestige of the king. One of which was the accident and death of Princess Diana and Camila Parker Bowles who became queen and married on April 9, 2005.

A survey from the British Social Attitudes Survey states that the British monarchy is currently at its lowest point in the last 30 years. In the survey, the public is asked to rate the attitude of royalty. Another survey published in 2021 states that only 55% of people out of the total think that the monarchy is important or quite important. If you look in the mirror in the last few decades, the figure will be in the range of 60-70%. What's even more worrying is that last May, King Charles had to settle for being in the third favorite royal position after the queen and Prince William as his eldest son.

Although after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, income polls and the state of the country are considered stable. King Charles III is considered to still have challenges that must be faced in order to improve his reputation as the holder of the British monarchy. Low levels of trust not only occur in the British people and society but also in countries belonging to the Commonwealth such as Australia which had wanted to secede into a Republican state. However, the proposal was canceled because it was rejected by the majority of the people. King Charles III had a challenge to then be able to convince the commonwealth countries that the future would be more prosperous.
